'HD 1553' variety of wheat (Triticum aestivum Linn. emend. Theli) and its mutants were evaluated for grain yield, yield components, protein and certain mineral nutrients following the application of saline irrigation water. Mutants 'Bhp 10' and 'Bhp 31' were better than the parent variety and were superior to it in protein, P, K and Mg contents. 'Bhp 31' was appreciably superior to 'HD 1553', but 'Bhp 10' was inferior to it in respect of Fe and Mn contents.
