Progeny of crosses between two high lysine barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) lines were studied to determine if the genes for increased lysine content were allelic or non-allelic. Lysine data from amino acid analysis of F1, F2, and F3 seeds from the cross Bomi mutant 1508/‘Hiproly’ (CI 3947) showed that the two high lysine genes involved are independent.
