Based on the data from the IYT hill set, CVT hill set and CIMMYT EVTs, OPVs were identified which showed promise for improving the yield of maize in the hills, high hills and terai. Differences in genotypes were also found in the CVT early set which was tested across the country to identify superior early maturing genotypes for the Far Western regions and sequential cropping systems in the country. In all the cases superior genotypes were identified which should provide useful options for farmers.
