Drought stress inhibited and promoted the synthesis of only a few proteins; the electrophoretic patterns differed between treatments, although they were similar for the leaves of both cultivars in the greenhouse. In addition, both cultivars grown in the greenhouse showed a greater number of protein bands than those grown in the field.
