Results of the performed studies showed nonsignificant dependence between the lodging grade and occurrence of anthocyanin pigment, the intensity of green colour and degree of the leaf curvature at the initial stages of plant development. Genotypes with a lodging resistance as compared to less resistant ones were characterized by a more coherent plant habit at the heading end stage, by more straight and more tighty set leaves and by more coherent awns in the spike
