Intergeneric hybrids of Hordeum vulgare L. x Secale cereale L. regenerated from embryo callus culture

Sixty two intergeneric cross combinations between Hordeum vulgare and Secale cereale genotypes were attempted. Seed set varied from 0.00 to 78.57 percent while the embryo yield from 0.00 to 13.59 percent. The combinations of Emir x Strzekecinskie and Trumpf x Kustro produced the highest number of plantlets and plants. A total of nine plant hybrids were obtained via embryo callus culture.
