Rye heterochromatin in the somatic chromosomes of triticale in relation to grain shrivelling

By: Contributor(s): Material type: ArticleArticleLanguage: En Publication details: 1987Subject(s): In: Hereditas v. 107, no. 2, p. 137-145615047Summary: Root-tip mitosis was studied in 4 lines of hexaploid winter triticale, usingC-banding. Some of the rye chromosomes lacked terminal C-bands. The amount of heterochromatin present in rye chromosomes, judged by the number and size of terminal C-bands, was highest in Sv8008 and WW31433, which also showed more pronounced grain shrivelling than Lasko and AD201.
