Plant regeneration from mesocotyl callus of Hordeum vulgare L
Material type: ArticleLanguage: En Publication details: 1984Subject(s): In: Plant Cell Reports v. 3, no. 4, p. 125-129609891Summary: Callus tissue was induced on mesocotyl explants of 7 day old seedlings on Murashige & Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with high concentrations of 2,4 D or 2,4,5 T. Two morphologically different tissue cultures were maintained in vitro for a long time: a callus tissue without organogenesis and a culture with high rhizogenic ability. Shoots and plantlets were regenerated when the callus was transferred to a medium supplemented with 3 æM TIBA. The largest number of plants obtained per mesocotyl was 40 and some cultures produced shoots even after 9 subcultures (about 14 months). Plantlets rooted well on MS medium with 5.7 æM IAA and survivedItem type | Current library | Collection | Call number | Copy number | Status | Date due | Barcode | Item holds | |
