Different combinations of lentil (Lens culinaris Medik) and wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) were compared to corresponding monocrops in an experiment conducted at the Debiganj sub station, Bangladesh, during the Rabi season of 1977-78. Seeding rate of lentil remained constant (28 kg/ha) while wheat seed rates varied between 10-50 of the normal (90 kg/ha). Up to 27 kg (30) wheat seed sown per hectare, there was no adverse effect on the yield of lentil and at the same time an additional output of 550 kg/ha of wheat grain was obtained.
