520 _aThis study was carried out with a fungicide used as a seed coating for soil-borne pathogen control to determine the efficacy in reducing infection of the root-lesion nematodes Pratylenchus thornei and Pratylenchus neglectus on moderately resistant and susceptible wheat germplasm. For each species three susceptible (S) and three resistant (R) wheat germplasm were tested at a fungicide concentration of (25 g ai/100 kg seed, 50 g ai/100 kg and 100 g ai/100 kg seeds). The fungicide was applied as standard seed coating and conducted under controlled conditions, in ATEAM, Eskisehir, Turkey. Moderately resistance germplasm lines significantly reduced the number of nematode density in both RLN species into root and soil system as compared to the control. Seed treated with concentration of 50 g and 100 g ai/100 kg seeds gave a nematode reduction in MR germplasm BILINMIYEN96.7 suggesting enhanced resistance with seed treatment. However, average number of P. neglectus extracted from soil was not significantly affected by seed treatments in the (S) germplasm while a great reduction in P. thornei number was observed in Seri when the seed was treated with the fungicide. Some synergetic and additive effects were obtained by seed treatment in the (S) germplasm Seri and Bezostaya and the MR GS50A. Neither shoot height, shoot weight nor root length were significantly increased by the seed treatment when compared with control. No phytotoxicity symptoms were observed on the plant by any of the different seed treatment concentrations.
