520 _aGene and quantitative trait loci (QTLs) localization in a model species allow to know their organization in the genome, and the possibility for the isolation and cloning of genes with agronomic importance. Seventy-three recombinant inbred lines (RILs) derived from the cross of Arabidopsis thaliana (L.) Heynh. ecotypes Columbia (Col) x Landsberg erecta (Ler) were grown in a greenhouse under contrasting soil moisture conditions (irrigated and water deficits). During their growth, some phenological (days to flowering) and plant growth traits (plant height, and number of nodes and leaves per plant) were measured. Significant differences for plant height and nodes per plant were found among RILs. Based on measured traits and segregating data deposited on the Project AAtDB (?An Arabidospsis thaliana Database; Boston, USA) we constructed one linkage map and mapped QTLs associated with the traits mentioned above. The linkage map included 120 loci distributed in five linkage groups, with a total length of 2094 cM. One QTL associated with plant height under water stress was located between loci ga2 and O818 in the linkage group 1. Locus ga2 is related with gibberellic acid production in plants.
