520 | _aThe main criteria that should be taken into account to forecast the risks of barley yellow dwarf virus infection in cereals are dicussed. These include the roles of vector reservoirs, suction traps, and field observations. Also presented are the details of a program to aid farmers in deciding when to apply chemicals. New possibilities for improving the forecasting of aphid flights, pinpointing high risk areas and telematic aids for rapid transmission of data, are discussed | ||
