520 | _aThe lime requirement of twenty acid soils (Alfisols) from Himachal Pradesh as determined by calcium carbonate incubation method showed significant correlation with pH (H2O), pH (CaCl2), organic carbon, cation exchange capacity, exchangeable hydrogen and cation exchange capacity contributed by organic matterbut not with clay content. It also had significant relationship with the productof increase in pH value due to liming and organic carbon content of the soils. Except for Yuan's method, the lime requirement as determined by the laboratory methods showed highly significant correlation with that obtained by CaCO3 incubation. The lime | ||
