Different control practices were tried against prevalent weeds in corn. Application of pendimethalin alone either immediately after seeding, at 2 days after emergence was ineffective in reducing the weed population and consequently lowered yields. All treatments involving manual weeding, i.e. alone or combined with mechanical and/or chemical control methods significantly decreased weed growth and gave relatively high stover and marketable ear yields. Controlling weeds by applying pendimethalin immediately after seeding combined with manual weeding proved to be most promising and effective as indicated by the highest yield obtained in this
