This talk will outline the background to the disease, Turkey and the region's wheat production and the CR problem, followed by the approach to address this by CIMMYT-Turkey Soil Borne Pathogen (SBP) program with partners. The research approach, historical background and contributions of scientists to this work will be discussed with some emphasis on gern1plasm enhancement of CR moderate resistant sources for Australia.
