Six maturity groups of populations and their progenies were evaluated for E, DMR and SR. It was found that 39.8% of the populations and 40.7% of the progenies were extra early to early, while 34% of the populations and 38.1% of the progenies were medium-early to intermediate in maturity. Using late and continuous planting combined, with techniques of "sick" field and spreader rows of DM, it was found that 22.5% populations and 20.3% progenies exhibited strong to medium strong DMR. In the case of SR, 77.9% of the populations and 59.5% of the progenies exhibited very strong to strong resistance and 14 (16.3%) populations and 143 (22.9%) progenies showed medium resistance. On analyzing the achievements made in selection for E, DMR and SR the largest progress was made in SR, then in earliness and the least in DMR, which corresponds to the time dedicated to selection for the analyzed traits ER -
