Different degrees of iron stress were developed in the plants by supplying them with increasing amounts of FeHEDTA. Iron stress enhanced Fe uptake more in Pa 54 than in ys1 corn. Enhanced Fe uptake was also associated with the ability of the plant to lower the pH of the nutrient solution, Pa 54 > ys1. Uptake of P was accentuated more in ys1 than Pa 54 by adding CaCO3, or by adding KCl instead of K2SO4 as a source of K to the nutrient solution. Phosphate reduced Fe uptake more in ys1 than in Pa 54, and increased the incidence of chlorosis in ys1 DO - https://doi.org/10.2136/sssaj1969.03615995003300010027x T2 - Soil Science Society of America Journal ER -
