N2  - Phenotypic correlations were studied between S and intra-population half-sib progenies in two random mating populations, namely Mezcla Amrillo Selection and J 607. The correlations were significant were significant in both the populations for ear height and days to silk.  In case of grain yield the correlations were not significant indicating that S1 selection has limited value for this trait.
