More weed emergence was recorded in conventional tillage (146 m−2) and reduced tillage (141 m−2) than in zero tillage system (103 m−2, at 30 days stage. P. minor was the dominant weed constituting 73, 57 and 58% of total weed density at 30 days stage in weedy conditions under conventional, reduced and zero tillage system, respectively. The maximum reduction in weed density and dry matter was obtained with application of diclofop methyl+isoproturon (0.84+0.75 kg ha−1) as tank mixture under zero tillage system. The highest average grain yield (3872 kg ha−1) was achieved under zero-till weed-free which was at par with conventional tillage weed-free situation. Tillage systems did not affect performance of isoproturon. Isoproturon alone or with 2, 4-D or diclofop methyl as tank mixture or diclofop methyl alone or tralkoxydim being at par with weed-free resulted in higher grain yield than the paraquat and weedy check under zero tillage system T2 - Indian Journal of Weed Science ER -
