Crop rotation trials have been conducted to establish a crop rotation system in which wheat would fit. In this poster, results of a six-year crop rotation trial are reported. Six crop rotation systems were tested. Wheat, soybeans, common beans, groundnuts, maize and maize/common beans inter-crop were included in the rotations. Wheat has consistently given higher grain yields when it follows legumes, especially soybeans or groundnuts, rather than cereals. Wheat following common beans has always yielded less than wheat following soybeans or groundnuts. When recommending a crop rotation system to a farm family in Northern Zambia, it is necessary to involve women family members as they are more involved in the choice and production of food legume crops than men are ER -
