In winter types, various estimators of resistance were compared to define which method gave the most valid information for the least expense of time. The final biomass of plants inoculated with a rather large number of aphids carrying a virulent PAV-like isolate was in itself a good estimator of resistance, and visual symptom notations were also useful if the artificial BYDV inoculation was uniform and severe enough to induce T2 - Burnett, P.A.
