Summary (En) N2 - To develop a weather-based model for emergence of wheat in Peshawar, wheat was planted on five dates from 25th October to 25th December. Dates on which wheat seedlings emerged were recorded. Days to seedling emergence and rate of seedling emergence were calculated. From the weather data and photoperiods for the wheat growing season, various indices were calculated for wheat planted on the five dates. Based on coefficient of variation, product of average temperature and photoperiod was found to be the most appropriate index for predicting emergence of wheat as coefficient of determination for cumulative values of this index for the emergence periods of the five dates of sowing was the lowest T2 - Sarhad Journal of Agriculture (Pakistan).
