Summaries (En, Pl, Ru) N2 - It was observed that the number of roots having cells with aberrations increased with a fall in seed viability. Simultaneously with a decrease of seed viability of rye from 99 per cent to 5 per cent the frequency of anaphase chromosome aberrations increased in all studied root lengths. The largest number of cytological changes was observed in the seed samples of rye stored for 15 years and having the lowest seed viability showed no significant cytological changes. This, however, does not exclude the occurrence of any genetic changes resulting from a long-term seed storage T2 - Genetica Polonica (Poland). Polish Journal of Theoretical and Applied Genetics.
