Summary (En) N2 - Inter-relationships between growth parameters viz. leaf area (LA), leaf area ratio (LAR), relative growth rate (RGR), specific leaf weight (SLW), net assimilation rate (NAR), leaf area per unit of the leaf weight (LALW), plant leafiness weight (LWR), and weight of plant organs viz. leaf dry weight (LDW), stem dry weight (SEW), root dry weight (RDW), ear weight (EW) and total dry weight (TDW) were worked out in nine maize varieties. Substantial variation existed for all traits among these varieties. All growth parameters and plant organs viz. LDW, SDW, EW and RDW were positively related with TDW. However, significant contribution to TDW was from LA (r=0.731), RGR (r=0.788), LDW (r=0.743) and RDW (r=0.731). These four traits were positively correlated with one another. Therefore, simultaneous selection for these traits can enhance maize productivity T2 - Journal of Agricultural Research (Pakistan). (Jun 1991). v. 29(2) p. 197-205 ER -
