The model sees 3 phases in the process: (1) setting project objectives;(2) distribution, improvement and testing of seed or plant material;and (3) evaluating and advancing the new germplasm. Further models consider the types ofworking relationships and organizational options available for combining biotechnology with conventional crop improvement programmes. The major applications of biotechnology to plant breeding are outlined, viz. rapid clonal propagation, in vitro conservation of genetic resources T2 - Bio Technology ER -
