Bibliography (24 ref.) Summary (En) N2 - Four types of testers, an open-pollinated variety, a three-way cross hybrid, a single cross hybrid and an inbred line, were used to evaluate the combining ability of 19S4 generation inbred lines extracted from two populations of corn (Zea mays L.). The inbred lines were evaluated for nine quantitative characters. Out of four testers, the inbred tester, Ph 109-1, had the narrowest genetic base and lowest yield potential but gave a highly significant and maximum genetic variation in the testcross progenies for most of the characters studied. Thus, it is the most effective tester for evaluating the inbred lines. Both additive and nonadditive types of T2 - Philippine Journal of Crop Science ER -
