Widespread occurrence of gullies of various sizes wasa common sight, resulting in run-off (50% of incident rainfall) and soil (> 10 t/ha) loss. Kharif fallowing was common, and yields were low. Storm drains, grassed waterways, Gabion structures, waste weirs and run-off collection tanks were set up. Drainage of the interbunded area was attempted through broad base bunds and graded channels. The problem of Kharif fallows was tackled with short duration high yielding varieties. Improved practices were followed for traditional crops, besides T2 - Fertilizer News ER -
