Mean daily consumption increased with increasing temperatures for both species, B. lampros consuming a maximum of 16 1st-3rd-instar nymphs and 9 apterous adults at 25øC. P. cupreus was particularlyvoracious and consumed 125 apterous adults of R. padi per day at 20øC. The behaviour of both species was analysed by video-filming starved beetles maintained at different constant temperatures in arenas sown with spring barley. The behavioural T2 - Entomologia Experimentalis et Applicata ER -
