TI - Plant regeneration from mesocotyl callus of Hordeum vulgare L PY - 1984/// KW - Barley KW - Cereals KW - AGROVOC KW - Hordeum vulgare KW - In vitro experimentation KW - Isolation techniques KW - Regeneration KW - Tissue culture KW - Genotypes N2 - Callus tissue was induced on mesocotyl explants of 7 day old seedlings on Murashige & Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with high concentrations of 2,4 D or 2,4,5 T. Two morphologically different tissue cultures were maintained in vitro for a long time: a callus tissue without organogenesis and a culture with high rhizogenic ability. Shoots and plantlets were regenerated when the callus was transferred to a medium supplemented with 3 æM TIBA. The largest number of plants obtained per mesocotyl was 40 and some cultures produced shoots even after 9 subcultures (about 14 months). Plantlets rooted well on MS medium with 5.7 æM IAA and survived T2 - Plant Cell Reports ER -
