Subject(s): Summary: CIMMYT spring wheat lines from Mexico and winter and facultative wheats from CIMMYT / Turkey program were introduced and tested in Anyang. In general, they are poorly adapted to central China's environment, however, several lines from rust screening nursery and double dwarf lines from ME1OE carry desirable characters such as big head and short stature and are involved in the crossing program in order to enhance the yield potential of local commercial varieties. Suggestions are also given concerning improvements of the adaptation of CIMMYT wheats in China and the efficiency of China / CIMMYT Shuttle Breeding Project.
