Preliminary survey study on Heterodera species in some provinces of Southeast Anatolia region of Turkey
Material type: TextPublication details: Wageningen (Netherlands) European Society of Nematologists : 2010Description: p. 159Summary: In a preliminary survey study, the identification, distribution and population densities of Heterodera species were investigated on cereal fields in four provinces (Gaziantep, Kilis, Þanlýurfa, Mardin) of Southeast Anatolia (SEA) region of Turkey. A total of 240 composite soil and root samples were taken during summer season in 2009. According to extraction, cyst nematodes were found in 128 soil samples (53%). Only from 17 locations DNA were extracted from cyst samples and identified 12 populations as H. avenae and 5 populations as H. latipons using PCR-RFLP. Population densities of cyst nematodes in infested cereal soil samples ranged at 58% localities 1-10 cysts, 26% localities 11-20 cysts and 16% localities 21-157 cysts per 250 g soil. Further comprehensive survey study should be done in the other provinces of SEA region of Turkey in order to find the importance of cyst nematodes.Item type | Current library | Collection | Call number | Status | Date due | Barcode | Item holds | |
