Plant Breeding: Principles and prospects has been edited by Drs Hayward, Bosemark and Romagosa and contains contributions from many senior authorities. The book is divided into sections, each containing several chapters, covering genetic systems and population structure, sources and assessment of variation, manipulation of genetic systems, selection methods, adaptation and specific trait breeding. Much of the information within the book will be of use for teaching purposes and the vast wealth of detail makes it an invaluable reference work for all concerned with the subject of plant breeding, including senior level students, researchers and teachers in plant and agricultural sciences and plant genetics, and practical plant breeders.
