All data are provided in ESRI shape file format. The Atlas is targeted towards users with no geographic information system (GIS) capacity, and includes the ArcExplorer (from ESRI) GIS exploration tool to query and manipulate data. Numerous predesigned ArcExplorer projects are included, along with a tutorial to introduce new users to ArcExplorer and the data. Among other uses, the Atlas will allow researchers to characterize regions of interest and target and predict the potential impacts of promising germplasm or agronomic practices. The Atlas requires Microsoft Windows 95, 98 or NT, as well as 14 MB of disk space to install ArcExplorerCollection: CIMMYT Publications Collection
