Studies indicate that some chemicals are effective against certain pests, but no conclusive statement can be made due to: lack of concrete data to support its claim (one season and one location trial is not enough); some products (chemical) are not registered/marketed in the country; cost-benefit ratio have not been thoroughly studied; and spectrum of bioefficacy have not been evaluated corollary to the biology of the different pests and no integration of the different effective methods have been done either in the laboratory, experiment station and farmers field
