Over the past 9 years we have developed certain aphid handling regimes that are essentially simple and nonlaborious. Our systems allows long-term maintenance of colonies/clones, and simultaneously ensures that established aphid clones are available for use in ongoing research projects. Maintaining aphids over extended periods at low temperatures without frequent transfer of either plants or aphids are discussed
