In: Genetica Polonica (Poland). Polish Journal of Theoretical and Applied Genetics. (1989). v. 30(1-2) p. 11-18Summary: Measurements of the awn length, tooth number on the awn and tooth length from three joints of spike were made on the awns of 20 inbred lines and 4 mutants of the rye. It was found that all the studied awn characters develop the best in the middle of spike. Characterization of different genotypes shows to a certain extent an interrelationship between the measurements of the awn characters, which supports the lack of linkages between the genes controlling these characters. This hypothesis is confirmed by the further strictly genetic studies
