A similar pattern of occurrence of the cutworm Agrotis ipsilon (Rott.), armyworm Mythimna separata (WLK), earworm Heliothis armigera (Hb.) and the corn aphid Rhopalosiphum maidis (Fitch.) were noted on the three cultivars of maize. Based on seasonal average the order of preference for the four pests, respectively, were (i) Local yellow> Shaheen> Local white (ii and iii) Local yellow> Local white> Shaheen, (iv) Local white> Local yellow> Shaheen
