Corn quality distribution within a continuous crossflow dryer

Grain mass temperature variations corresponded most closely to moisture changes near the inside wall of the cooling zone which suggests that temperature sensors for moisture control systems would be most sensitive and accurate if located there. Corn at the inside layer of the dryer lost about twice as much moisture as that in the outside layer, and corn at the inside layer of the cooling zone exhibited the most stress cracks and the highest breakage susceptibility. Broken corn and foreign material (BCFM) did not vary significantly throughout the dryer
