Four spring-type synthetic hexaploid wheat (SHW) germplasm lines were derived from crosses of Triticum tauschii [Aegilops squarrosa] with tetraploid T. turgidum [T. durum] wheat and designated WX-SYN.B92-52, WX-SYN.B92-81, WX-SYN.B92-87 and WX-SYN.B92-91 (PI587160 to PI587163, respectively). These SHW germplasms, released in Mexico, possess immunity to Karnal bunt (Tilletia indica), as revealed in trials conducted at Sonora, Mexico for 3 crop cycles (1988-92)
