Information is presented on the development and performance of these 4 germplasm lines (PI583749 to PI583752) developed for acid soil tolerance by the South American Regional Maize Program of CIMMYT in collaboration with several national agricultural research programmes around the world. All the lines are of full-season maturity. SA4 has yellow semident to dent grains, SA5 yellow semiflint to flint, SA6 white semident to dent, and SA7 white semident to flint grains. They are broad-based populations providing high grain yields in acid (pH <5.6, Al saturation >35%, P <15 mg/kg) and non-acid, fertile soils
