The effect of increasing rates of N fertilization (87, 174, 261, 348 kg/ha) on the leaf area of wheat and on its correlation with the spread of leaf and foot diseases was studied on a brown forest soil. The basic fertilization consisted of 140 kg/ha P205 and 140 kg/ha K20. The indicator plant was the wheat variety Mv 8. The degree of infection with leaf diseases (Erysiphe graminis, Puccinia triticina) and foot diseases (Gaeumannomyces graminis, Pseudocercosporella herpotrichoides) was recorded as a percentage.
