Objective of the study was to determine the effects of sowing term (early and delayed by two weeks) sowing rate (4,5 and 6,0 mln grains/ha) and nitrogen fertilization rate (0, 80, 120 and 160 kg/ha N) on the technological value and germination capacity of two spring wheat varieties (Alfa and Kolibri) which followed either cereals or root crops in rotation. The technological value was found to be chiefly dependent on nitrogen fertilization and sowing date. Sowing rate played no appreciable role. Germination of spring wheat grain was not significantly dependent on nitrogen fertilization. Delayed sowing markedly reduced the germination capacity and the growing
