24 ref.; Summary (En)
Attempts were made, through in vitro culture of stem internodes, to produce triploids and hexaploids in self-incompatible triploid Lycopersicon peruvianum. In all, 64 plants have been regenerated. Cytological analysis showed that 2 were diploid, 33 triploid, 28 hexaploid and 1 cytochimera. The analyses of the breeding behaviour of the triploids and hexaploids have shown that, although S-heteroallelic, they were self-incompatible. This indicates that the presence of S-heteroallelic pollen is alone not sufficient for the breakdown of incompatibility character
