Material type: ArticleLanguage: En Publication details: 1986Subject(s): In: Journal of Fertilizer Issues v. 3, no. 3, p. 80-85615279Summary: A three year study compared the effects of starter fertilizers and placementmethods on growth and yield of maize grown in conventional and conservation tillage systems. Maize was planted with or without in-row subsoiling. Fertilizerwas applied as N, N-P or N-P-K at rates of N, P and K of 22, 9.7 and 6.6 lb/ac, respectively. This was placed either deep in the subsoil channel or shallow withor without subsoiling. Starter fertilizers improved early season plant growth inboth tillage system on both a silt loam, Decatur, and a sandy loam, Dothan. Plant height increases six weeks after planting averaged 50 and 27% for conventional and no tillageItem type | Current library | Collection | Call number | Copy number | Status | Date due | Barcode | Item holds | |
