The programme was found to have had a significant impact in motivating a large number of farmers to adopt improved practices for wheat and rice cultivation and in helping them to raise their yields, thus leading to increased incomes. Socio-personal characteristics of the beneficiaries were found to play a significant role in acceptance of recommended farm practices. The programme provided an excellent feedback mechanism to scientists and helped to establish the credibility of the scientists and of the recommended technology.
