By: Contributor(s): Material type: ArticleArticleLanguage: En Publication details: 1988Subject(s): In: Journal of Fertilizer Issues v. 5, no. 3, p. 83-88615158Summary: Two fluid acid-type fertilizers (10-30-0 and 10-30-0-7S), made by mixing urea with wet-process H3PO4 or urea with H3PO4 and H2SO4, were compared with 10-34-0 ammonium polyphosphate fertilizer (APP), granular triple superphosphate (TSP) and diammonium phosphate (DAP) by banding with ZnSO4 or alone (no ZnSO4) to a Zn-deficient Crowley silt loam (Typic Albaqualf) in a greenhouse pot experiment. Each P fertilizer was banded at a rate equivalent to 40 lb of P2O5/ac. The ZnSO4 was applied at rates of 3 and 12 mg (1.5 and 6 ppm) of Zn perpot containing 2 kg of soil and 1 kg of quartz sand.Maize (Zea mays L.) forage yields and Zn uptake increased with rate of applied
