Summary, etc. In this article we use data for 900 farm households and 1616 farming plots in Ethiopia to examine the determinants of the probability and the level of adoption by smallholder farmers facing multiple sustainable agricultural technologies and practices (SATPs). Estimation is carried out using a multivariate probit and an ordered probit econometric model. Results show that significant correlation between SATPs is suggesting adoptions of SATPs tend to be interrelated. The analysis of both the probability and the level of SATPs adoption decisions show that these increase with household wealth; thus raise a concern as to the attractiveness of SATPs as low-external input methods for poorer smallholder farmers. Education, social capital, market access, reliance on government support and plot level shocks are also influencing both decisions. While farmer?s confidence on the skill of the extension agent has a positive effect on the likelihood of adoption, the frequency of extension contact is important for increasing the number of SATPs adopted. Adoption of SATPs decreases with the negative rainfall shock and credit constraint, but the number of SATPs adopted is constrained by the availability of labor and the plot distance from home. Our study calls upon the formulation of specific policies and/or target specific groups of farmers to encourage the adoption of a package of SATPs
