El Valle del Mezquital es una región semiárida del estado de Hidalgo, donde predomina la agricultura mecanizada con disponibilidad de riego con las aguas residuales del Valle de México. La agricultura en general es una actividad tecnificada con el uso de semillas mejoradas, fertilizantes, pesticidas para el control de plagas, enfermedades y malezas, maquinaria e infraestructura que se utiliza en las zonas de riego de alto potencial para el maíz. Existen dos plataformas de investigación; Francisco I. Madero (con la UPFIM) y Mixquiahuala, (con CIDT). Este menú de tecnologías validadas resume los resultados de la investigación en las plataformas de investigación del Valle del Mezquital. |
