Acronyms are appearing in increasing numbers in the language and phraseology of development-related studies. The following list was compiled as an aid in identifying the complete narnes of organizations and projects found frequently in their acronym form in the Centre' s correspondence and documentation. The format was produced by MINI SIS, an interactive minicomputer system designed and implemented by the IDRC. The first line indicates the actual acronym; a single asterisk refers to an alternative language version. The expansion is given next, followed by the city, if constant and determinable, where the headquarters of the organization are located. A double asterisk denotes the organization' s affiliation. This list will be updated as additional information, changes, and deletions are drawn to our attention. A new edition will be published when the number of changes warrants it. Any comments relating to the format and contents of this publication, as well as suggestions for additions and changes, will be gratefully received. |

Les sigles sont de plus en plus nombreux dans le langage et la phraséologie des études relatives au développement La liste suivante a pour but de faire connaître les noms des organismes et les titres des projets, souvent représentés seulement par leur sigle dans la correspondance du Centre et sa documentation. Elle a été réalisée grâce à MINISIS, un système interactif à base de miniordinateur conçu et mis en oeuvre par le CRDI. A la première ligne figure le sigle, suivi éventuellement de ses équivalents dans d'autres langues, indiqués par un astérisque. Les deuxième et troisième lignes donnent le nom au long, puis la ville du siège social, s'il est déterminable et permanent. Enfin, si l'organisme est rattaché à un autre, ce dernier apparaît sur une dernière ligne, précédé de deux astérisques. La mise à jour se fera au rythme des renseignements supplémentaires ou des avis de changement ou de suppression qui nous parviendront Quand le nombre des modifications à apporter le justifiera, une nouvelle édition sera publiée. Nous recevrons avec plaisir tout commentaire quant à la présentation et au contenu de ce document, ainsi que toute proposition de changement ou d'addition. |

Cada vez mas a menudo, las siglas aparecen en el lenguaje y la fraseologi a de los estudios referentes al desarrollo. La siguiente lista se recopil6 como ayuda para identificar los nombres completos de organizaciones y proyectos que con frecuencia se mencionan por sus siglas en la documentaci6n y correspondencia del Centra. El formata fue producido por MINISIS, sistema de minicomputador interactivo disenado y puesto en operaci6n por el CIID. La primera linea indica la sigla misma; un asterisco sencillo nos remite a otra version altemativa A continuaci6n aparece la denominaci6n completa, se guida de la cuidad donde esta ubicada la sede de la organizaci6n si ésta es permanente y determinable. Un asterisco doble denota la filiaci6n de la organizaci6n. Esta lista sera actualizada a medida que se nos proporcione informaci6n adicional, cambios y supresiones. Cuando el numero de cambios introducidos Io amerite, se publicara una nueva edici6n.
