El estudio se realizo en el municipio de Coatepeque, Quezaltenango. Su objetivo fue relacionar las concentraciones de N, P, K, Ca y Mg del suelo y del tejido foliar con el rendimiento en grano del maiz (Zea mays L.) y determinar los requerimientos de N, P, K, Ca y Mg en el cultivo, a traves del sistema de diagnostico y recomendacion integrado. Se utilizo diseno experimental bloques al azar en arreglo factorial 3x3x2, con 3 repeticiones. Se evaluo 3 niveles de nitrogeno (0,60 y 120 kg/ha) y fosforo (0, 45 y 90 kg/ha) y 2 de potasio se efectuaron 2 muestras del suelo y de la hoja por unidad experimental.
